Summer 2010
The first real summer rains in many years have brought an unusual sense of calm to western Victoria.
Mostly mild temperatures and a great deal more water than is usually seen in summer, have attracted water birds including herons, egrets, brolgas and families of native ducks to Dunkeld's Arboretum, providing great bird viewing opportunities for early morning walkers.
Many long mild nights are being spent watching the setting summer sun from the private outdoor decks of Mountain View Rooms and the warm weather has encouraged many to take in the view from the refreshing outdoor swimming pool. Guests are also indulging in seasonal harvest dishes based on the summer fruits and vegetables collected daily from the Hotel's kitchen gardens.
